Tag: My Reading Habits!

1. Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

Yes, I have numerous places, IΒ usually lay on the sofa or on my bed and read, with the company of a lot of pillows! (and candles)

afterlight2. Bookmark or random pieces of paper?

I use to use random pieces of paper, on occasions I still do if I can’t find anything quickly. But I took some paint cards from Bunnings (a hardware store) and am currently using them. I put some of my favourite quotes from the book on them as well, just for a personal touch.

3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop at the end of a chapter/after a certain amount of pages?

I usually stop anywhere in the book, I don’t finish reading a chapter then put it down.

4. Do you eat or drink while reading?

Sometimes, it depends if I’m hungry. But chocolate is the best way to go when reading! However some of it does end up mostly on the book or my t-shirt, I’m a messy eater haha.

5. Multitasking: Music or TV whilst reading?

Yes, I listen to both, and sometimes both at the same time. I like having background noise, it helps me concentrate a little better, but it depends. They usually become focused out anyway when I really get into the book so I don’t usually realise that the music is still going or the TV.

6. One book at a time or several on the go?

I usually read about 2-3 books at a time, just so I have an option of what I want to read at a particular time. Sometimes I might grow tired of one book and the storyline, so I’ll change it around a bit.

7. Read at home or everywhere?

I read whereverΒ I can! Could be at home, at work breaks or car rides. As long as I have my book with me I’m going to read it when I can.

8. Read aloud or silently in your head?

I usually read in my head, but sometimes I find myself reading quotes aloud if something doesn’t sound right, or I if I’m in the middle of reading a quote that makes me laugh.

9. Do you read ahead or skip pages?

I have a really bad tendency of reading the ending! I try not to skip pages but sometimes I just want to know what happened and I just read a random page or the end. Sometimes I like to play a game, I read the ending, then try to figure out what happens throughout the book while I’m reading.

10. Breaking the spine or keeping it new?

It really depends if I have to break in the spine or not, because we all know there are those kinds of books where the spine is so stiff you cant read the page unless you break it in. I like the look of having my books spines being broken in, I think that it adds character to the book and makes it look like it’s been read and loved. However, I wouldn’t break it so much that the book would disintegrate in my hands because that’s really bad!

11. Do you write in books?

Yes, I highlight quotes in my book occasionally and write in the margins. Just little things like my reaction to what a character said etc. I like to look back on what I wrote in the margins, my comments kind of make me laugh, It just adds character and makes me remember what I was thinking at that time when I last read the book.

So, if you read all this, thank you! I wasn’t tagged to do this, I just felt like doing it. So I’m not going to tag anyone and if you want to do it go for it!
Have a great day/afternoon!
