Tag: How do I Read?

Hello Guys! I thought I would do a tag just because, and so you guys can get to know me a little better. I found this tag off Kendra from ‘Reads and Treats’. Okay, here I go!

1 – How do you find out about new books?

I find out about new books mainly through my Instagram and Goodreads accounts. People love to post a lot on Instagram, which gives me a whole lot of books to look at and consider reading. A majority of the books I own have been advertised from there, and also another majority is just from walking down to the bookstore and having a look around

2 – How Did you Get into Reading?

I started reading in Primary school, and the first books I remember reading were the Ink heart Trilogy by Cornelia Funke. I think those books were the first series I have started and finished when I was younger. After that, I specifically remember picking up the Hush, Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick. And I remember loving this books quite a lot in my younger times, especially since the Author had around the same name as me (and I was crushing on a guy called Patrick at the time, so if you think about it: Becca (me) – Fits – Patrick (the guy) so being the naive little person I was, thought that was a sign from above. However that never really happened and I was veryΒ disappointed.). Then after those books I picked up the Vampire Academy books by Richelle Mead and Holy Moley I was sucked into the world and I have never escaped since haha.

3 – How has your taste in books changed as you got older?

My taste has changed quite a lot. I use to read very soppy romantic books and a lot of vampire books but now I have ventured out into different genres. I guess that comes with the whole growing up thing, don’t get me wrong I love a good romance novel, however, I think I would reach for something a little different these days instead.

4 – How often do you buy books?

Well, that depends! I’m usually working, studying or attending uni so I don’t have enough time to go to the bookstore and have a spending spree. However, whenever I’m around the shopping mall I have a look around the bookstores just to see what books are out. Since the mall where the bookstore is about a half hour drive (yeah this may not sound bad but there can be horrid traffic and who wants to deal with that!?), I don’t always go. I do go on online stores, however, just to have a look. I don’t buy a lot of my books online though.

5 – How did you get into Reviewing

It all started when I was on youtube and stumbled across Sasha’s account. I didn’t really know about this community last year, so stumbling across her channel really opened up a lot of doors that I didn’t know existed. My blog is still under construction, but I’m planning on making it the primary place where I review books ( I have started a youtube channel, but I’m a bit hesitant to post anything on it). And overall I thought why not start this blog to review books, I love to read and I think writing my opinion on them would be interesting.

6 – How do you react when you don’t like the end of the book?

Okay, so this all depends on whats happening. I usually end up flipping it on my bed (yeah that sounds weird I know haha) Maybe throwing it on the bed as well (Lightly I promise). I write what I didn’t like down in my book diary. Then proceed to think about the ending for a couple of days (who am I kidding. Β A couple of weeks) and brood over it. It usually makes me look like I haveΒ (as my mum puts it) “Lost my best friend”, which can be true in some cases. I have attached some Gifs of my reaction process below:
