There are a few books that have caught my attention this last month that I am excited to get my hands on and read. I have heard great things about them from people have been raving on about them all over the internet! So, to keep this post short and sweet, here are three books that are on my list or TBR wishlist.
The Lies We Told by Camilla Way
“When Clara’s boyfriend, Luke, disappears, everyone believes that he’s left her, but Clara thinks she knows the truth. Recent evidence suggests that Luke had a stalker, and Clara worries that he’s been kidnapped. Then Luke’s older sister, Emma, who vanished twenty years ago, suddenly reappears.
Emma wants to help Clara with her search for Luke, but she refuses to talk about what happened–even though it nearly destroyed her family when she vanished. And the deeper Clara digs into Luke’s mysterious disappearance, the more convinced she is that the two incidents are connected.”
The cover of this book is what caught my eye while surfing through Goodreads and after reading the blurb I can’t wait to get my hands on it. I’m currently in the mood for some good thrillers and mysteries and I hope that this one lives up to the hype that it’s receiving!
And Then You Were Gone by R.J Jacobs
“After years of learning how to manage her bipolar disorder, Emily Firestone finally has it under control. Even better, her life is coming together: she’s got a great job, her own place, and a boyfriend, Paolo, who adores her. So when Paolo suggests a weekend sailing trip, Emily agrees—wine, water, and the man she loves? What could be better? But when Emily wakes the morning after they set sail, the boat is still adrift…and Paolo is gon
But when Emily uncovers evidence suggesting Paolo was murdered, the investigation throws her mania into overdrive, even as she becomes a person of interest in her own personal tragedy. To clear her name, Emily must find the truth—but can she hold onto her own sanity in the process?“
Okay so, this book was one that caught my interest because of the plot and story that is revealed so far. This book is currently on ready for me to read on my kindle and I’m very keen to get into it.
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
“Eleanor Oliphant has learned how to survive – but not how to live. Eleanor Oliphant leads a simple life. She wears the same clothes to work every day, eats the same meal deal for lunch every day and buys the same two bottles of vodka to drink every weekend.
Eleanor Oliphant is happy. Nothing is missing from her carefully timetabled life. Except, sometimes, everything. One simple act of kindness is about to shatter the walls Eleanor has built around herself. Now she must learn how to navigate the world that everyone else seems to take for granted – while searching for the courage to face the dark corners she’s avoided all her life.
Change can be good. Change can be bad. But surely any change is better than… fine?”
One of my favourite YouTubers suggested this book after she read it and called it a fantastic read. I couldn’t resist! It’s currently on my Kindle ready for me to pick up.
Have you read any of these books? If so what were your thoughts on them? I would love to hear your opinions!
