Book Review: Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion

Warm Bodies-1.jpg“R is having a no-life crisis–he is a zombie. He has no memories, no identity, and no pulse, but he is a little different from his fellow Dead. He may occasionally eat people, but he’d rather be riding abandoned airport escalators, listening to Sinatra in the cosy 747 he calls home or collecting souvenirs from the ruins of civilisation.

And then he meets a girl.

First as his captive, then his reluctant guest, Julie is a blast of living colour in R’s gray landscape, and something inside him begins to bloom. He doesn’t want to eat this girl–although she looks delicious–he wants to protect her. But their unlikely bond will cause ripples they can’t imagine, and their hopeless world won’t change without a fight.”

January TBR!

Hello from the other side [of 2016] *sings in Adele’s voice*

giphy.gif

Anyways, Hello guys! We are officially in 2016 (yes I know you all know this but whatever), and since it’s a new month I will be writing the ritual ‘*insert Month here* TBR’! (I can sense all the excitement😂)

As you all know so far, I have been doing my TBR very differently, this is because I was finding it difficult to stick to the set books for the month. Because you all know that feeling when you don’t want to read a book, so you put it off until like 4 months later, but whatever!

So, it’s a fresh new year, and to start this year off with a bang, I’m going to give myself

FEED by MIRA GRANT

as my set reading for this month! Let’s do this!! (as you can already tell I’m very pumped for this year, it’s going to be full of reading and amazingness {did I really just type that, Ignore!})

I have a few book reviews coming your way as well, these include the following:

  • Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion
  • Stolen by Lucy Christopher
  • This is where it Ends by Marieke Nijkamp

So stay tuned my friends!!

Happy new year to you all and I wish you all the very best. May your blog and life be filled with books!

My Book Blogging Goals for 2016

Holey Moley, IT’S NEARLY 2016. I mean seriously where the hell has this year gone!!!!!????

Here are some goals that I have created for next year!

  • Reach 50+ Followers! (Because I’m vain like that)
  • Blog as frequently as I can (Mon, Wed, Fri)
  • Try to be more talkative with other people on this website
  • Read More Books!! (20+ Yes a small goal, because I want to actually achieve it!)
  • Gain more active followers! You guys should talk to me more! (sorry, I’ll try harder, I promise)
  • Get into contact with publishers and see if I’m able to do reviews for them (hopefully, fingers crossed!)
  • Find an appropriate theme (I’m not loving mine right now, a fresh start is needed)
  • Improve on my grammar and punctuation (because I believe I’m not doing well with those!)
  • Improve on my reviews and posts! (More professional type reviews and no waffle! [I know, waffles are just too good though])
  • Find my Mojo on here and Instagram (failing hard)
  • Gain more confidence!!

Do you guys have any new years resolutions or goals for 2016? If so please tell me! Have a great year guys, let’s hope it doesn’t go as fast as 2015! (God help us please)

1 – How long have you been a blogger

I have been a blogger for around 4-5 months (I think, based on my first follower). I don’t think it’s been a long time at all, but I think I have changed a little over that time. My taste for books as an example and I guess my confidence with blogging!

2 – At what point do you think you will stop

I HOPE that I won’t end up stopping, but as I progress through university I know its going to be so difficult for me to read and blog so I think it will slow down around then (very regrettably thought). Hopefully, I’ll be on track though, I’m trying to plan my posts out now so I have a structure during the week! (Then I post more!)

3 – What is the best thing?

I think the best thing about being in this community is meeting all these awesome people on this account and also through other social media. Seeing other peoples opinions on the books that I have read is really interesting and sometimes I find that I miss things that others have picked up so it’s cool!

Book Review: YOU by Caroline Kepnes

YOU_300wide1“When a beautiful, aspiring writer strides into the East Village bookstore where Joe Goldberg works, he does what anyone would do: he Googles the name on her credit card.

There is only one Guinevere Beck in New York City. She has a public Facebook account and Tweets incessantly, telling Joe everything he needs to know: she is simply Beck to her friends, she went to Brown University, she lives on Bank Street, and she’ll be at a bar in Brooklyn tonight—the perfect place for a “chance” meeting.AA

As Joe invisibly and obsessively takes control of Beck’s life, he orchestrates a series of events to ensure Beck finds herself in his waiting arms. Moving from stalker to boyfriend, Joe transforms himself into Beck’s perfect man, all while quietly removing the obstacles that stand in their way—even if it means murder.”

Books I Would Take with Me to a Deserted Island

This post is obviously going to be all about books I would take with me if I was going to be deserted on an Island. This would include:

1 – Vampire Academy Books (SHOCK HORROR OMG)

The_covers_of_the_six_Vampire_Academy_books.jpg

I would bring the Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead with me if I was going to be stranded on an Island. Not only because they are my favourite books, but because I don’t think I can get sick of them at all. I would read them quite a few times as I wait to be rescued and meanwhile relax in the sun. Argh, If you haven’t read them do yourself a massive favour!

2 – Throne of Glass series

Since I have only started this series I think it would be fair to say I would read this quite quickly if I was deserted on an Island by myself. Who knows, I could end up hating it and burying it in the sand OR absolutely love it and it could outdo VA (HAHA NEVER!)

3 – The Perks of being a Wallflower

This is a book I haven’t read yet so I would bring this book with me because I have been wanting to read it for quite some time. I loved the movie and am hoping that the book will be even better than the movie!

Warm Bodies

4 – Warm Bodies

Warm bodies is my current read so I guess it’s a no-brainer to bring it with me. Again, if I dislike it I’ll bury it in the sand somewhere *shrugs*

5 – Glass Sword

BECAUSE I CAN, AND I WILL SPEND MY TIME CRYING OVER IT BECAUSE I’M A SAD HUMAN BEING

percyjacksonbazbox.jpg6 – Percy Jackson books

Because God help me I haven’t read a single one of them and I swear if I’m going to be marooned on an Island I want something to keep my mind off the fact that I’m by myself *sobs* and I have to read it because it’s just a must!!! (It’s been on my TBR list for way too long, ITS TIME)

Okay! So they are the books I would take with me if I was deserted on an Island by myself. If you have the same kind of books you would bring with you, definitely tell me why you chose them! If not, what books would you bring with you? What are your top 3 picks?

Also, I hope they tell me before I go on this Island because I need time to pack these things! (and in some instances buy them *oops*)😂😂

Have a great day guys!!!
